My scan finished but I’m not sure what the results mean. Where do I start?
Start with the Critical issues flagged in your report — these are the violations most likely to affect users with disabilities and most likely to appear in a legal complaint. Each issue includes a plain-language description of the problem, which WCAG criterion it violates, and step-by-step instructions to fix it. If you’re on the Full Service Plan, our team handles fixes for you automatically.
The audit found hundreds of issues. Do I have to fix all of them to be compliant?
Not necessarily all at once. The legal standard is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which has 50 success criteria. Most audits surface a subset of those. Focus on fixing all Level A and Level AA failures — these are the legally relevant ones. Level AAA issues are optional and not required by most compliance frameworks. Work through Critical and High severity issues first, then address Medium and Low over time as part of your ongoing maintenance routine.
I installed the code snippet but my dashboard still shows “Not Connected.” What’s wrong?
The most common causes are:
-
The snippet was placed in a location that only loads on some pages, not site-wide (e.g., pasted into a single page’s footer instead of the global header/footer template).
-
A caching plugin or CDN is serving an older version of your page that doesn’t include the snippet yet. Clear your site cache and try again.
-
The snippet was accidentally placed inside a comment tag or a non-executing script block.
To verify: view the source code of any page on your site and search for your unique ADAcertify snippet. If it appears, the connection should register within a few minutes. If it still doesn’t, contact support with your domain and we’ll diagnose it.
Does ADAcertify make my site 100% ADA compliant?
No automated tool — including ADAcertify — can guarantee 100% ADA compliance on its own. Automated tools reliably catch approximately 30–40% of WCAG issues. The remainder require human judgment: testing with real screen readers, keyboard-only navigation testing, and reviewing complex interactive components. ADAcertify’s Full Service Plan combines automated scanning with manual expert remediation to address both categories and get you as close to full conformance as possible. We document everything so you have a defensible compliance record even for any remaining edge cases.
I received a demand letter about ADA website accessibility. Can ADAcertify help?
Yes. The first step is to document your current compliance status and begin remediation immediately — courts look favorably on defendants who took proactive steps after receiving notice. Contact our support team directly and explain the situation. We can prioritize your audit, fast-track remediation on the specific issues mentioned in the letter, and provide compliance documentation you can share with your legal counsel. We are not a law firm and cannot provide legal advice, but we can give your attorney the technical documentation they need.
How often does ADAcertify scan my site?
Active accounts are scanned on a continuous basis. Any time new content is published or existing pages are updated, the platform flags changes for review. You can also trigger a manual scan at any time from your dashboard. Monthly compliance summary reports are emailed to you automatically.
Can I add more than one website to my account?
Yes. Additional websites can be added to your account. Each additional domain is treated as a separate property with its own scan reports and compliance tracking. Contact support or visit your dashboard’s Sites section to add a new property. Volume pricing is available for agencies or businesses managing multiple client websites.
What happens if my website changes after remediation — do I have to start over?
No. ADAcertify monitors your site continuously. When new content introduces new issues, the platform flags them immediately. On the Full Service Plan, our team addresses new issues as part of your ongoing subscription — you don’t pay extra each time your site updates. On the Alert Plan, you’ll receive notifications so your team can address changes promptly.
My developer says the site is already accessible. Do I still need ADAcertify?
Developer intent and legal compliance are not the same thing. Many developers build with accessibility in mind but don’t test against the full WCAG 2.1 AA checklist or verify behavior with actual screen readers. ADAcertify provides documented, auditable proof of compliance — not just a developer’s assurance. If your site is genuinely compliant, the audit will confirm that and give you the paper trail to prove it.
